It looks like there's another big cheese in San Antonio's restaurateur world.

A local restaurant group with roots in St. Paul Square is broadening its business efforts within the city, according to a report from CultureMap San Antonio.

Gusto Group USA, known for restaurants like Toro Kitchen + Bar and Cuishe Cocina Mexicana, has announced plans to expand, with at least four restaurants in the works. The group, co-founded in 2020 by Gerardo De Anda, has updated its website to reflect some of its upcoming concepts, including The Bunker Mixology and Stylus Mixology, both of which borrow from Gusto Group's existing bar Cellar Mixology.

According to CultureMap, the first business up will be The Bunker Mixology, which'll open sometime in March at 229 E. Houston St. #10, in the same underground spot The Last Word used to be. A moment of silence for that unrelated blast from the past.

After The Bunker, Gusto Group will move...

After The Bunker, Gusto Group will move its Stone Oak-based Toro location to a different space (still to be determined) and open another Toro at La Cantera after that. At least, that's according to the info that the restaurant group gave CultureMap in their exclusive interview.

Stylus Mixology is said to follow, another retro bar that'll have some kind of adjoining pizza place.

It's a little unclear how long till any of these place will be up and running, but I'll keep an eye out for those openings and any other news coming out about Gusto Group's ambitious moves.
